Panchen Lama's 21st Birthday, movie screening and guest speakers

The event will be hosting the screening of the movie Tibet's Stolen Child and will also have three guest speaks talk on the issue.

Following are the guest speakers for the April 25th event:

  • Khen Rinpoche Kachen Lobzang Tsetan: Khen Rinpoche Geshe Kachen Lobzang Tsetan is Abbot of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe, in southern India.He is a Tibetan Buddhist monk from Ladakh, India, who has lived and taught in the United States for more than fifteen years. He began his monastic life at age seven in Stok, his family village. At age thirteen he joined the Stok Monastery to study and memorize Buddhist scriptures.
  • Tethong Tenzin Namgyal: Former Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New York (1973-1986) and Special Representative of His Holiness in Washington, D.C. (1987-1990). Currently a distinguished Fellow of the Tibetan Studies Initiative, at Stanford University.
  • Ruth Hayward: President and Executive Director of the "The Panchen Lama - Tashi Lhunpo Project", Inc - The Panchen Lama- Tashi Lhunpo project seeks to help fulfill the wishes of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to improve the monastery of Tashi Lhunpo in exile, in honour of the Panchen Lama.

All donation contributions from this event will go towards the Relief Fund efforts for the Kyihundo victims and survivors.
